About Tenby
The drive into Tenby had been an absolute dream, all winding lanes and glimpses of the sea glinting between the hedgerows, but the moment we turned into the little lane for The Heritage Park Serendipity everything promptly went pear-shaped. I’d printed the directions in what I thought was a moment of sensible planning, yet somehow managed to reverse them at the final roundabout, so we arrived at the gate with the sat-nav cheerfully announcing we’d reached our destination while the cottage itself was still half a mile back up the hill. A quick U-turn on a narrow track, a small scrape of the wing mirror against a friendly hawthorn, and we were finally crunching up the gravel to our home for the next three days.

The cottage sat tucked behind a neat hedge, its stone walls glowing warmly in the late-afternoon sun. The moment the door swung open I felt the tension of the journey melt away. Inside, everything was calm and cosy: a low-beamed living room with squashy sofas facing a wood-burner, a kitchen stocked with proper mugs and a kettle that whistled like it meant business. We dumped our bags, cracked the windows, and let the salty Pembrokeshire air drift in while we unpacked the essentials—tea bags, biscuits, and a bottle of wine we’d promised ourselves for the first evening.

By the time we’d made our first cuppa, the mishap on the lane already felt like a funny little story rather than a disaster. We stepped out onto the patio to take it all in: the neat lawn sloping gently toward the edge of the park, a few other cottages dotted about but far enough away to feel private, and the soft murmur of birds settling in for the evening. A short stroll down the lane brought us to the coastal path, where the sea stretched out in a perfect slice of blue between the cliffs. We didn’t go far—just far enough to feel the breeze on our faces and watch the last of the day’s light turn the water silver.

Back at the cottage, supper was a simple affair of local sausages from the little shop in town and some crusty bread we’d picked up on the way. Sitting at the kitchen table with the door open to the garden, I found myself thinking how easy it is to forget the small rituals of a proper break: no rush, no screens, just the quiet satisfaction of being somewhere new. The Heritage Park Serendipity had already worked its gentle magic, turning a slightly chaotic arrival into the start of something restful and real.
