Tucked into the hillside overlooking Freshwater East beach, it's proper cosy – two bedrooms done up simple but comfy, with a wood burner that screamed "cosy nights in" and a kitchen stocked with all the basics. Off I went, striding out with a spring in my step, the path winding through gorse bushes buzzing with bees and the odd rabbit scarpering into the undergrowth.
