I finally made it to Luxury Lodge 5 Bed Hot Tub near Cairndow after what felt like the scenic drive from hell – or at least from the hell of Scotland's twisty B-roads. First impressions? Absolute stunner. The front door swung open to a hallway that screamed "holiday upgrade" – polished oak floors, underfloor heating warming our chilled toes, and not a whiff of damp that plagues lesser lets. We dumped our gear and beelined for the living area, a vast open-plan space with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the water like a living painting. Sunlight danced on the loch, boats bobbing tiny in the distance, and I could already picture lazy evenings with a dram in hand.
