I finally made it to Leintwardine after a bit of a faff on the A4113 – nothing major, just me taking a wrong turn near Wigmore and ending up in a muddy farm lane, swearing at the satnav like it was my ex. We'd booked this cosy 1 Bed Lodge in Leintwardine through Snaptrip, craving that proper rural escape – no big plans, just us lot soaking up the simple stuff.

Pulling up to the lodge late afternoon, the sun dipping low over the Teme Valley, I was gobsmacked. It's this cracking little timber number tucked into a peaceful spot on the edge of the village, surrounded by lush fields and those rolling Herefordshire hills that make you breathe easier.
